Later that month, the short will be competing in the 16th edition for “Best Fiction” during Oscar Qualifying Film Festival IN THE PALACE Film Festival in Varna, Bulgaria, running from September 19th - September 26th.

alongside with another five films from the 2019 selection of the
festival, it has been chosen to be the subject of research as part of a
two-day interdisciplinary international conference entitled THE SHORT FILM: A GENRE SUI GENERIS.

In October, “Beyond the Tide” will have its Northern America premiere at Sanford International Film Festival!

Last but not least, the short received a Special Jury Mention at “Short of the Year 2020” run by short film distributor Promofest.

Just one day into shooting, we couldn’t believe our ears when we learned that the medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg has selected “Beyond the Tide” to be the first short film project in years to receive a full grant of € 20.000 to both produce and promote the film.

We are enthused to announce that we won the annual “Startbüro Babelsberg” scholarship awarded by Studio Babelsberg / medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg / ILB Bank / Filmuniversity Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF! It comes with a fully equipped office based on the Babelsberg studio lot, a mentorship programme and a budget of € 9.250 to promote “The 5th Age”, “Beyond the Tide” and the development of an upcoming feature film project for the coming year.
